Kozaki Fermentation Village is a unique roadside station that primarily sells fermented foods.

Hakkonosato Kozaki

The building is divided into four sections. The Fresh Market sells freshly picked local vegetables, fresh fish delivered directly from Choshi Fishing Port, and the new rice variety "Tsubusuke."
The Fermentation Market is packed with local specialties as well as a carefully selected range of fermented foods from all over the country. One of the most popular items is amazake (sweet sake) made by a local sake brewery. Baumkuchen made with amazake has a gentle sweetness.
At Restaurant Oryzae and Hakko Sabo, you can enjoy dishes and cafe menus made with fresh vegetables and fermented foods such as koji, vinegar, and miso.
The station also hosts mini events such as miso-making classes and free amazake distribution.
